WHY DID YOU CLOSE THE RESTAURANT?
Unfortunately the venue sustained heavy electrical and operational equipment damage as a result of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred. We needed to make significant repairs and updates to the venue in order to return it to full operations. As part of that process, we have made some interior changes to the restaurant.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN CHANGES TO THE VENUE?
We’ve reimagined the space to create a brighter, breezier, refined atmosphere. While the wraparound windows with ocean views have always been a signature feature of the restaurant, they are now able to be opened, bringing the outdoors in and giving the entire venue an alfresco dining feel. Add to that a new private dining area and refreshed interiors, and the result is a light, coastal-inspired experience from the moment you walk in.
WILL THE MENU BE THE SAME AS BEFORE?
The core of our menu — our famous ribs and premium steaks — remains proudly in place. What’s new is a selection of new dishes and beverage options that complement the refreshed ambiance. These additions enhance the dining experience without straying from the Hurricane’s identity you know and love.

An iconic dining favourite on the Gold Coast since 2013, famous for flame-grilled ribs and premium beef steaks, Hurricane's Grill & Bar Surfers Paradise has been reimagined by award-winning interior designers, Luchetti Krelle, with interiors inspired by the relaxed elegance of the coast.
Key features include locally-crafted wooden finishes, hand-crafted tiles, a new private dining area for events of up to 40 people, and transformation of the existing wraparound windows with ocean views to be completely opened out bringing the outdoors in, giving the venue an alfresco dining feel.

Restaurant Surfers Paradise
To complement the renovated interiors, the menu has also been refreshed and elevated, with a range of new items now available including a raw bar section featuring local seafood, Mediterranean leaning starters like fried focaccia and burrata, premium cuts of Australian steak including a 1.7kg tomahawk and 1kg T-bone with nothing below MS8, and a dry-aged steak program, to complement the signatures from the original menu like flame-grilled ribs, stacked burgers and fresh, colourful salads. When it comes to our ingredients, we are all about fresh, locally sourced, and high-quality flavours.

Drinks & Cocktails
Sit and sip at our beachside bar - the perfect meeting place for both small and large social gatherings to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail, beer or wine while soaking up our spectacular beachfront views. The beverage list has also been enhanced with new dessert cocktails, boozy slushies, tropical cocktails and a dozen mocktails, plus a range of tap beers, local wines and spirits.

The newly-renovated restaurant in Surfers Paradise is the place to be for locals and visitors to the Gold Coast alike, as a perfect date night option, family lunch or dinner out, and to celebrate special occasions and functions from birthdays to corporate events.
